Our split air conditioners are from the Bosch Climate 2000 range. The number is the cooling power: pick it by the size of the room, how sunny it is and how many people use it.

BTU per hour measures how much heat an air conditioner can remove from a room each hour, so it tells you its cooling power. 12,000 BTU is about 3.5 kW, 18,000 BTU about 5.3 kW and 24,000 BTU about 7.0 kW.
12,000 BTU suits most bedrooms and small offices. Choose 18,000 BTU for a larger bedroom, a living room or an office with several people and computers. Rooms with big west-facing windows, high ceilings or a hot roof above need more power, so it is worth stepping up a size.
For open-plan living and dining areas, halls, shops and large offices. One correctly sized unit is better than a small unit running flat out all day.
No. A unit that is too big cools the room quickly but switches off before it has taken the moisture out of the air, which leaves a room feeling cold and clammy. Tell us the room size, the windows and how many people use it, and we will suggest the right size.
